| MI CASA EN ESPANOL | ||||
|
Mi Casa History Mi CASA began it’s life in 1992 as CMAY (Case Management for Adjudicated Youth) as a program of a community organizing agency called HART (Hartford Areas Rally Together), whose Substance Abuse Task Force saw the need for a grass-roots organization to provide intervention services for Frog Hollow youth who had gotten into trouble-often related to drugs and were wards of the State Juvenile Justice System. With seed funding from the City of Hartford, CMAY opened its door in a tiny “storefront” location on Broad Street, near the intersection with Park Street in Hartford. CMAY quickly outgrew its space and relocated to the multi-service mall on Park Street, and then to 590 Park Street, where we have been located for the last five years. Mi CASA began operations as an independent incorporated as a legal not-for-profit agency with its own Board of Directors on January 1, 1999.
